Animals are both the collection goal and the income engine in Jump for Animals! Hatch them from eggs, place or manage them at your plot, use their money to improve the next run, and complete the Animal Index for rewards. The official description also confirms rare sizes, secret animals, and Mythic eggs, so appearance, collection state, and production can all matter when deciding what to keep.
Track collection
Use the Animal Index to compare visible names, sources, sizes, mutations, income, and Index status without pretending the public roster is complete.
Use duplicates
Read Mutations before selling identical animals. A current community-documented machine path may give duplicates another purpose.
Improve cash flow
The Money Guide helps choose active producers, check offline earnings, and reinvest in the slowest part of the egg loop.
Give every animal a job
An animal can serve several roles. It may be one of your strongest visible producers, fill a new Animal Index entry, represent a rare size or mutation, or supply a duplicate for a current machine. Check those roles before selling, replacing, or merging it.
Start with the exact name shown by the game. Player videos may call animals “pets,” but AnimalByte uses animals and names the Animal Index. If the UI shows rarity, income, sale value, size, source egg, or mutation, compare those fields directly. Do not infer rarity from model size or assume a glowing appearance has a fixed multiplier.
The official public page does not publish a complete animal roster. Videos and thumbnails mention dramatic creatures, but a title is not enough to place an animal in a verified list. The Animal Index guide therefore focuses on entries visible in your current game and marks public coverage as currently documented rather than complete.
Build the collection without wasting income
Keep a first-seen animal until you check whether it advances the Index. The official description explicitly says completing the Animal Index can grant rewards, so a lower-income animal may still have collection value. Claim a visible Index reward through the current interface only after confirming its requirement.
For duplicate animals, compare production and special markers before removing one. If two copies look identical, read their displayed size, mutation, or income. A rare size can matter even when the base animal name is the same. Keep unknown variants until you understand what the current UI is showing.
Balance collection with active income. Your plot may have a practical placement or pen limit, but the public description does not publish it. If the game requires a replacement, remove the animal with the least combined value: no new Index progress, lower visible production, no needed duplicate role, and no unfamiliar variant.
Understand mutations cautiously
A current Pro Game Guides walkthrough, updated September 4, 2026, documents two mutations in the Celestial Heights-era build: Gold and Purple Aurora. It reports that five identical animals can be placed into a Mutation Machine near the Coils Shop to produce one Gold animal after a timer, while Purple Aurora eggs appear during a named event and hatch into mutated animals.
Those details are useful working instructions, but they are not first-party documentation. The guide reports a 4x Gold effect and 2x Purple Aurora effect on sale value and earning rate, and says mutated event eggs can combine the two. Confirm the machine inputs, timer, multipliers, location, and current event behavior in your server before committing valuable duplicates.
The safe action is to pause before selling five identical animals. Visit the visible machine, read its input and output panel, and check whether all copies must match by name, size, or another property. The Mutations Guide lays out that process and clearly separates community-reported values from official facts.
Turn animals into steady money
AnimalByte says animals earn money even while you are offline. That makes useful production a long-session and between-session benefit, but the official description does not state the offline window, cap, formula, or whether every animal must be actively placed.
When you return, inspect the claim panel before collecting. Note the time away, displayed amount, and which boosts or events were active. Do not multiply a single payout into a permanent hourly rate unless the game exposes the same basis. The Money Guide provides a clean comparison routine.
Reinvest into the slowest part of a complete run. More income is useful only when spent on a problem: reaching the next height, completing the route more reliably, improving useful hatch throughput, or supporting a better set of active animals. Avoid buying one of every upgrade just because cash is available.
Compare animals with useful fields
Common animal-management mistakes
- Selling the first copy before checking the Animal Index.
- Treating a video title as proof that an animal belongs in the current roster.
- Comparing income under different event, pass, or placement conditions.
- Assuming the largest model always earns the most.
- Feeding mismatched or valuable copies into a machine without reading the output.
- Calling a public list complete when the official game does not publish the roster.
- Replacing every low-income animal even when it supplies an unclaimed Index reward.
Frequently asked questions
Do animals earn while I am offline?
Yes, offline animal income is stated in the official description. The exact duration, cap, placement requirement, and formula should be read from the current game.
Is there a complete official animal list?
The official page confirms the Animal Index, rare animals, rare sizes, and secret animals but does not publish the complete roster or stats.
Should I sell duplicate animals?
Not immediately. Compare their visible income and variants, then check the current Mutation Machine. Identical copies may be useful for the community-documented Gold path.
What is the best animal?
That depends on your goal and current build. Compare visible income for production, Index state for collection, and mutation or size markers for variant value. No stable official tier list is currently available.
